Asaemon the Decapitator, a renowned executioner, comes across Gabimaru's plight and devises an offer. With the hope of reuniting with her, Gabimaru refuses to succumb to death, frustrating all attempts of execution. Nevertheless, despite his seemingly impassive facade, Gabimaru secretly harbors a reason to exist – his beloved wife, the very person who caused him to soften and become ineffective in his line of work. He has grown exhausted of living a life of killing and treachery and desires nothing more than to depart from this world. Gabimaru the Hollow, a ninja from Iwagakure Village recognized for his unemotional demeanor and devoid of any warmth, finds himself on death row after being plotted against by his fellow comrades.
